Vanessa got her start in animal advocacy back in 2010 when she started volunteering at the City Kennel and became a long-standing foster for then Friends of the Cleveland Kennel. She always stepped up for the difficult/ challenging cases and made her mark while fostering/rehabilitating “Miera’ the staple of the 2011 Dog Fighting Ring in Cleveland, Ohio. Vanessa got her first experience when she assisted in trapping a group of feral dogs that left a huge impact on her heart; thus, her journey began. With the support from her peers, Vanessa formed her own non-profit 501c3 in June 2017 now known as Remi’s Pet Recovery.  Vanessa dedicates her life to helping reunite lost dogs with their owners and humanely recovers abandon/stray dogs.
